The Jackson County Genealogy Library houses the largest collection of genealogical books and resources in Southern Oregon. Over 16 thousand volumes cover all states. The library is especially rich in Jackson County and Oregon resources. To access our library catalog, follow this link, JCGL Catalog.

The new Jackson County Genealogy Library is located at 3405 South Pacific Highway (old 99) a little south of South Stage Road and between "All Natural Pest Elimination" and "Hemingway Vintage Homes". Follow this link, Map, for a printable Google map to our new building.

The JCGL is open from 10AM to 3PM Monday through Saturday except for major holidays. We close the library the week leading up to Christmas and Thursday through Sunday at Thanksgiving. RVGS members have free access to the library, but there is a $5 fee per day for nonmembers.

The RVGS Research Committee can help you with your research. The research fee is $15 per hour. Please include $15 with your initial request. You can mail your request and check to the library, ATTN: Research Chairperson, using the address on the request form. Click on the following link for the research request form which you can fill in on your computer, print and then mail to us: Research Request Form

For faster turnaround, click on the Buy Now button below to pay electronically for your request and have the request emailed to us. After filling in the information to make your payment, click on "Add" after special instructions to explain what you would like us to do. Provide the surname, date, place, and other relevant information pertaining to the person you are researching. Once your online payment has been verified, our staff will begin work on your request. If not too extensive, our findings will be emailed to you. Otherwise, they will be mailed to you at the address you provide on the request form.
