Member Meeting Minutes
Call to Order President Anne Billeter called the meeting to order at 1:32 pm. A quorum was declared. The meeting was in person and via Zoom.
Approval of June Minutes
Kim Thurman moved to approve the September 2024 Member Minutes. Frank Marksman seconded. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report Kim Thurman updated the current finances.
Total income: $ 3531.85
Total expenses: $ 3462.39
Net operating income: $ 69.47
Net income: $ 1132.43
Approval of Dues Increase
Katie Haugse moved to approve the increase in dues commencing in 2025 to $50 with $20 for a family membership. Dorothy Cotton seconded. Motion carried
Budget Proposal
Kim Thurman summarized the proposed Budget for 2025.
Election of Officers
The President read the slate of officers nominated by the Nominating Committee as follows: President, Anne Billeter; Vice President, Frank Marksman; Secretary, Cathy Ullrich; Treasurer, Valerie Sanders; Trustee, Rosalind Lyne. Hearing no calls for additional nominees from the floor, the President closed nominations. The President was asked to cast a verbal unanimous ballot in accordance with Article IX, Section 5 of our current Bylaws. The election was concluded.
Member Sharing
Kim Thurman brought to the Members’ attention a softball which was donated and signed by the team. Kim and Cathy Ullrich will research the names.
Rich Miles reminded members about the upcoming Blue Bag incentive from November 15 through December 2.
Business Meeting Adjourned at 2:05
RVGS’ Quilt Committee presented a program on the work done by the committee.
Summary Reports
- Education – Genealogy Week was a success! Total registered attendance was 159, with a number of beginners attending every day AND taking advantage of the afternoon Practice Sessions. As a result, Practice Sessions will be scheduled as part of future classes, when appropriate.
- Membership - Loretta Barker - Membership stands at 669.
- Technology & Data Management – Boosted Genealogy Week on Facebook with good results.
- Volunteer - Ann Baracker - We currently have 82 volunteers, who worked 1,043 hours in September.
