Member Meeting Minutes

Approval of Minutes Chloe Sternola moved to approve the January 2025 minutes with corrections. Ann Baracker seconded. Motion carried.

• Marilyn Ayres reminded members that the Scholarship deadline is March 7 and urged us to spread the word to Jackson County friends and family.
• Anne Billeter shared that the Windows in Time program at the Medford Library was rescheduled due to the snow. We currently have 27,062 items in our library collection.
• Jeanne Hoadley highlighted the upcoming classes - see below
• Marilyn Ayres noted that the Ulster Historical Foundation will present their Northern Ireland classes in various West Coast locations for the first time since 2015.

1. Education – Genealogy Week will be September 22 -27, Monday - Saturday, with a class each morning and a practice session with mentors available each afternoon.
2. Membership - Loretta Barker - Membership stands at 624.
3. Technology & Data Management – American Ancestors is back.  MyHeritage is being used more heavily.
4. Volunteer - Ann Baracker - The Volunteer Appreciation Lunch was enjoyed by many and was a great success.
5. Library—Anne Billeter—Thanks to many volunteers, the library's annual inventory was completed in December and early January. The new total of cataloged items in the collection is 27,062.

• Next Program & Member Meeting:  Tuesday, March 18, 1:30 PM, “Tabitha Moffat Brown - The Mother of Oregon” by Kathie Ordal and Mary Robsman
• Let’s Talk Genealogy: Wednesday, March 19, 1:30 - 3:00 PM, facilitated by Rich Cunningham. Zoom only. 

• Online pre-registration is required at www.rvgslibrary.org by noon the day before. 
• Classes are now available as hybrid: register to receive a Zoom link or view in the library.
• Practice Sessions do not require registration and are in person only.

2. Google Earth - Thursday, Mar 20, Hybrid: 10:30 - Noon, with in-person practice session from 1:00 - 3:00 PM - Kim Thurman.
3. Women’s Committee of the Council of National Defense Registration Cards: The Largest Census of American Women You’ve Never Heard Of  - Presented by Zoom by Amber Oldenburg - Tuesday, Mar. 25, 1:30 -3:00 PM - Hybrid. Will NOT be recorded.
