Member Meeting Minutes
Call to Order - President Anne Billeter called the meeting to order at 1:31 pm. A quorum was declared with 12 members present and 29 on Zoom for a total of 41. The meeting was in person and via Zoom.
Approval of Minutes Ron Naumann moved to approve the March 2025 Meeting Minutes. Valerie Sanders seconded. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report
Total income $ 3,789.06
Total expense $ 2,823.47
Net operating income $ 965.69
Net income $ 1,316.35
Bylaws Change - No comments or questions were received.
Ron Naumann moved to approve the Bylaws change to Article XV - Endowment Fund. Rich Miles seconded. Motion carried.
DAR Presentation - The Latgwa and Crater Lake Chapters of the DAR are merging. RVGS received a gift of $500 from the Latgwa Chapter to support local genealogy.
Member Sharing - Anne Billeter shared that the Arkansas Mystery Genealogy Quilt was reunited with a great-granddaughter of Armilda Fields. Anne will be presenting a program on Maryum’s Yellow Rose on April 24, when our raffle quilt winner will be announced.

Program: Wendi Babst presented a very informative program, “Raising the Dead: Forensic Investigative Genetic Genealogy.”

- Education – Jeanne Hoadley - We are in the planning stages of a Citizen Transcription Project

- Volunteer - Ann Baracker - Our presence at the Access Senior Fair on April 8 resulted in many fruitful contacts, with follow-ups planned. The Colleen Eccleston scanning project is progressing smoothly and quickly. In order to have a 2025 open house, we need volunteers to coordinate the event.
- Library - Anne Billeter - Shifting the library collection is continuing steadily. This means none of the books are where they used to be. Luckily, we have our online catalog which supplies call numbers!

- Brick Wall Round Table: Wednesday, May 21, 1:30 - 3:00 PM, facilitated by Rich Cunningham.
Upcoming Classes:
- Online pre-registration is required at www.rvgslibrary.org by noon the day before.
- Classes are now available as hybrid: register to receive Zoom link or view in the library.
- Practice Sessions do not require registration and are in person only.
- Genealogy 101 - USA Land Research Strategies - Thursday, May 8, 10:30 AM- Noon, In Person AND 6:00 - 7:30 PM Zoom - Barbara Northrop
- Google Earth Pro - Thursday, May 29, 10:30 AM-Noon with in-person practice session, 1:00 - 3:00 PM - Kim Thurman.
NOTE: Fridays on April 25 and May 2, 9, and 16, the RVGS Library will be a busy place, especially from 11:30 - 12:30, as OLLI students will be practicing what they are learning in a six-week-long “Introduction to Genealogy” course.
