NGS - see report and attached letter. Matt thanked RVGS for taking the lead in writing an Advocacy Letter to our Congressional leaders. He will share it at the NGS Delegate Council meeting during the Family History Conference in May as a model for other member organizations.

NEW BUSINESS

Funds and Investment Policy - see report
2025-24 Valerie Sanders moved to approve the changes to the Funds and Investment Policy to bring them in line with the recently approved bylaws. Rich Miles seconded. Motion carried.
Membership Passes
2025-25 Kim Thurman moved to donate a one-hour genealogy consultation at RVGS to the OLLI Open House door prize raffle on August 6th. Ann Baracker seconded. Motion carried.
Also discussed was a like offer for the October 24 seminar. That will be referred to Education for review.

Radio Ad Promotion - Mocha Monday from LITE 102 prize offers $500 advertising as part of the award. Anne will follow up with Lynne Hunter, Publicity Chair.

Gravestone in Rear of Building - A duplicate gravestone for Silvia Maria Gubetta Cardoza has been found behind RVGS. No one is buried beneath it. Maintenance Mike Meredith would like to dispose of it as he located an identical stone in Winema Cemetery in Weed, CA, on Findagrave. Cathy Ullrich will research.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Insurance Review - Kim will contact people and schedule a time to complete this.

REPORTS
President - see report. Anne reviewed the “Like” organizations that may meet in RVGS. The Like Groups Policy may need revision. Tabled until the June meeting.

Quilt Committee Update - The raffle quilt was won by Sybil Russell. The money from the raffle and quilt documentation is over $1000. It will be utilized towards the publishing of RVGS’s quilt book

Vice President - Frank is trying to set up a meeting with Jana Stanley to discuss grants. He will investigate whether there is a grant available for the quilt book publishing.

Trustee - see report. Our class numbers are up due to the OLLI classes. The number for the German Interest Group may need to be adjusted.

Past President - Kim reported that we may share the Advocacy Letter. She suggested we paraphrase her original so that it looks different. Kim will submit a column on our advocacy efforts for the June eNews.

DIRECTORS
Volunteer - see report. Ann reported that the Colleen Eccleston project is nearing completion. Frank stated that the Jacksonville Community Center is interested in an RVGS presentation and noted that Julie Rayfield is the contact. Horton Plaza also made a similar request. Anne will follow up for now, but going forward may be a task for Education or Outreach.

Technology - see report.

Membership - see report. Loretta noted that duplicates were discovered in the membership roster. The large number of members who did not renew may be because of the dues increase.

Education - see report. Discussion ensued about offering more series, such as the Genealogy 101 that Barbara Northrop has taught. It was noted that RVGS needs more teachers and presenters.
