Member Meeting Minutes

Call to Order - President Frank Marksman called the meeting to order at 1:30 pm. A quorum was established, with 18 members attending in-person  and 22 joining on Zoom, for a total of 40
Approval of Minutes - Loretta Barker moved to approve the minutes of the January Membership meeting. Janet Read seconded. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report – Treasurer Valerie Sanders reviewed the highlights of the Society’s income and expenses for February. She reminded the members that our Scholarship recipient will be selected on April 7th. See the report on the bulletin board for the Treasurer’s report.
Bylaws Update - Loretta Barker moved to approve the bylaw changes. Jeanne Hoadley seconded. Motion carried.
The annual book inventory has been amended to every other year to allow flexibility. This will be changed in the Society’s procedures.

60th Anniversary - Anne Billeter presented the details for a photo contest as part of our 60th anniversary celebration. There will be 14 categories, and the deadline for entry is August 15th. The details will be presented in the April eNews. The photos will be displayed, and the winner announced at the September 15th member meeting and ice cream social. Anne also reminded members that the Medford Public Library is highlighting RVGS’ Civil War transcription project in one of the display windows. She shared books recently purchased for our library from Mary Robsman’s memorial donations.

Member Sharing –  
  • Rich Miles reminded members of the Earth Day Blue Bag promotion from April 15th to April 26th. An extra 20% is credited for donations during that window.
  • Carolyn Haynes shared that she had found some errors in her tree.

Adjourned - President Frank Marksman adjourned the business meeting at 1:47 pm.

Pat Pfremmer presented a fascinating program entitled “Never Give Up.”
