Dear RVGS Members,

We need YOU to SAVE OUR SOCIETY!

We need members who are willing to serve on the RVGS Board of Directors for 2024! I have tried to get members to be on a nomination committee but without success. We have three open positions: President, Vice President, and Treasurer. Luckily, our current Secretary, Cathy Ullrich, and Trustee, Christine Galligan, have volunteered to continue in 2024. The critical point of this message is we are not only governed by our bylaws but also by the Oregon Non-Profit Corporation Act - ORS Chapter 65. This Act states:

Required Officers
Under the old law a nonprofit corporation was only required to have a President and Secretary or officers with equivalent responsibilities. Nonprofit corporations are now also required to have a Treasurer. Additionally, the same person may not be the President, Secretary, and Treasurer.

Without the three required officers we CANNOT operate as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. On behalf of the current RVGS Board of Directors we are asking you to please SOS: Save Our Society!
