Our GIG is again on schedule for meeting the second Tuesday of the month, July 14, 3:15-4:45 PM. However, participants stay at home and meet on our computers. The ZOOM way allows us to view each member face-to-face (not strung out along tables), permits only one person to talk at a time (sort of an improvement) and makes sharing information easy (simpler than projecting files onto the library’s TV).
- Locate your light source so that it does not cast a shadow on your face; body language (not beauty) is important in discussions.
- Pick a quiet spot for this time period. (Mary will show you the mute button on the ZOOM screen. Also there is a hand-raising button that is “handy” for discussions.)
- Prepare a file with your document, information, what you want to ask or discuss, etc. (At the meeting you load the file onto your screen and hit the share button. All will see it on their screens. Talking behind the screen goes on.)
If you plan to attend this meeting, register by email to GIG facilitator firstname.lastname@example.org
. On Monday, July 13, Mary will email ZOOM information for joining the group.
July 14 is French Bastille Day. To commemorate, shall we discuss the many French-German connections from Napoleon to the World Wars?
