Member Sharing.  Anne Billeter noted that she has located a website through the New York City Genealogical group that has an 1859-1894 Bodies in Transit report.  If you have someone who died in this area during the above time period, you might be able to located them.  When someone died, we don’t always know who was in charge of the body.  It was also noted that the Civil War classes we have had recently will be repeated at the Southern California Jamboree in June.

Board Actions.  Kim reviewed the Board actions as shown on the Agenda and noted the classes, seminars, and Interest Groups that were coming up.  She specifically noted our Spring seminar, Research Like a Pro, on Saturday, April 24, by Diana Elder.

Kim noted that members can hire a researcher from RVGS for $15 hour.  These researchers will answer specific questions only and will not do regular genealogical hunting.  We also have an agreement with Legacy Tree Genealogists where you can hire them and get a discount as an RVGS member; our Society will also get a fee from them for these searches.

Program.  Kim introduced Rich Miles who is going to take us step-by-step through our new website.  Rich gave us a thorough introduction to our website.  He particularly noted that many functions can be done from various points in the website.  Rich noted that we can also access our website from any phone that has internet access.  We learned many new “tricks” and certainly learned a lot about our wonderful new website.  Thank you, Rich!!

There was a question regarding our library reopening.  We are hoping this will be soon.  Keep checking our website for the latest updates.

Closing  Kim adjourned the meeting at 2:57 p.m.  The next Member Meeting will be on April 20, 2021.

Loretta Barker, Secretary
