Programs & Member Meetings
The Rogue Valley Genealogical Society meets the third Tuesday of each month from 1:30 to 3:30 PM. Starting in September, these meetings will be conducted via Zoom. Each gathering consists of a brief business meeting and a genealogy- or history-related program. The exceptions are July and August when the society takes a summer break, and December when the society holds its annual Holiday Party, Volunteer Awards Ceremony, and Installation of Officers. The programs are free for everyone, and guests are encouraged to attend. Watch our event calendar
Heirloom Genealogy: Case Studies
Classes are given the fourth Tuesday each month (except July, August, and December) from
1:30 to 2:30 PM to learn about genealogical clues from family heirlooms. Presenters share the
research techniques, historical events, and memories connected to quilts and other family
treasures. We are reminded that “things” can help us discover a family’s genealogy and
connect stories about the heirlooms to family history.
Brick Wall Roundtable
Watch our event calendar for our periodic Brick Wall Roundtables. Bring your stumbling blocks and find answers with others to what is keeping you facing the "brick wall" in your genealogical research. Roundtables are free for members and $5.00 for non-members. Watch our calendar for scheduled events.
Let's Talk Genealogy Roundtable
All are welcome to join in on our open discussions related to genealogy. We will meet every other month with a focused topic, but don't let that limit the discussions. It's a time for sharing new info you've run across, great books or websites you've discovered, your success stories, a history lesson, classes you've attended, sharing handouts or whatever comes to your mind. We will meet the 3rd Tuesday of the even numbered months from 6:30 -8:00 PM. This is roundtable is not to solve brick walls, but certainly suggestions from the group might be in order. (The Brick Wall Roundtable discussion group meets Saturdays on the odd months.) So, grab a cup of tea or glass of wine and plan to join us and “Let’s Talk Genealogy.”
